2016 Sportsfest Artistic Pool Challenge Overview

Players will compete in the only amateur artistic pool tournament on the east coast! Players will receive instruction from world ranked artistic pool professional Brian “Superman” Pauley and then do a scoring run. Players will have to set up the shots on their own and execute the shot. Brian will be available for help with set up such as freezing the balls if need be. Players will have three attempts at each shot. All the shots have a point value and players will be scored on how many attempts it takes to make the shot. Some points will still be awarded even if the shot is missed all three times. The adults will be shooting six shots that are found in both the professional artistic pool shot program as well as the amateur artistic pool shot program. The juniors will be shooting five shots selected by Brian. All players will score themselves. The highest score will be the winners. A trophy will be presented to the 1st place and 2nd places players. In the case of a tie for 1st or 2nd place, the players will have a sudden death shootout. Each player will pick one shot to shoot. Players will shoot both their shot and the opponents shot. Players can not pick the same shot. A coin flip will determine who picks the first shot. The winner of the coin flip also determines the order the players will shoot in. The player with the highest score after the shootout wins the shootout. Special Tie Breaker notes. Both players must be present for the shootout. As much time will be given WITHIN REASON for both players to be there. If one player makes it there and the other player cannot, the player that cannot attend will forfeit the shootout. If in the case of both players are unable to make the shootout, the player with the least amount of attempts will win the tiebreaker. If in the case both players are unable to make the shootout and they have the same amount of attempts, then a coin flip will determine the winner. Schedule The time will be divided up into 90 minute sessions for the adults and 60 minute sessions for the juniors. These sessions will include the instructional time and the scoring run. Limit 3 players per session. (special provisions can be made for more players) Sessions can start early if the previous session ends sooner and all players are present. If there is an open session on Saturday and a junior would like to do their scoring run due to not being able to play on Sunday, that can be arranged if time allows.
